Atlaslive Glossary: What's a White Label iGaming Solution?
Do you want to launch under your brand without dealing with licensing paperwork or platform setup headaches?
A white-label iGaming solution is the way to go. It is a fully managed, ready-to-operate casino and/or sportsbook that runs under the provider’s license and infrastructure, but carries your branding. The provider handles platform operations, integrations, payments, and compliance; you focus on marketing, acquisition, and day-to-day brand management.
How White Label Works (roles & responsibilities)
Provider (license holder):
- Hosts and maintains the platform (infrastructure, uptime, security).
- Holds the gambling license/authorization and is responsible for regulatory compliance.
- Integrates games, payments, KYC/AML, and anti-fraud tools.
- Operates core back-office services (risk rules, settlement, reporting).
- Manages required audits, certifications, and regulator communications.
Brand / operator (white-label partner):
- Runs the brand and front-end experience (look & feel, content, promos).
- Leads marketing, acquisition, and retention activities.
- Sets commercial strategy (segments, offers, pricing) within provider rules.
- Handles day-to-day operations (where agreed): support, VIP, CRM campaigns.
- Complies with the provider’s license conditions and operating procedures.
Compliance principle (Brazil example): In Brazil, fixed-odds betting and online games can only be operated by legal entities authorized by the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA). The authorized operator (license holder) bears regulatory responsibility; suppliers/brand partners cannot offer gambling without SPA authorization. As of January 1, 2025, companies operating without authorization are subject to penalties under the framework set by Law 14,790/2023 and SPA/MF rules.
Core Components Typically Included
- Platform & PAM (Player Account Management). Account creation, authentication, wallets, limits, and permissions. The operational core that ties every module together.
- Casino / Sportsbook modules. Ready game lobbies and betting markets (pre-match & live), with settlement, odds feeds, and provider integrations handled by the license holder.
- Payments (gateway & local methods). Cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, mobile payments, and region-specific options; reconciled and monitored centrally.
- KYC/AML & risk controls. Identity checks, sanctions/PEP screening, source-of-funds workflows, and configurable risk rules aligned to local regulations.
- Anti-fraud & responsible gaming. Device/behavioral checks, velocity rules, bonus-abuse and collusion detection, plus RG tools (self-exclusion, limits, reality checks).
- Bonus & CRM. Segmentation, campaigns, welcome/retention offers, free bets/free spins, loyalty programs, and triggered communications.
- Customer support tooling. Ticketing/live chat, player history, refunds/adjustments, and workflow automations.
- Reporting & BI. Real-time dashboards and scheduled reports (GGR, NGR, ARPU, cohort retention, payments/KYC funnels) for decisions and audits.
- Hosting, security & monitoring. Managed infrastructure, encryption, DDoS protection, WAF, logging, and 24/7 uptime monitoring.
- Certifications (jurisdiction-dependent). Technical certifications and audit packs required by regulators, maintained by the license holder.
Regulatory Landscape & Due Diligence
Jurisdiction matters
Licensing models, technical standards, and advertising rules vary by market. In Brazil, fixed-odds betting and online games may only be offered by authorised operators under the Ministry of Finance’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA). Operating without SPA authorisation is sanctionable under Law 14,790/2023 and its regulations. If you plan a white-label route, confirm that the license holder’s authorisation actually covers your brands, verticals, and markets.
Distribution rules are tied to licensing
In June 2025, Google Play opened distribution to Brazil-licensed betting and gaming apps (subject to conditions), which underscores how store policies now follow local regulatory status. If you’re unlicensed or outside scope, the listing may be blocked.
The license holder keeps the compliance burden
Even outside Brazil, regulators are clear: in white-label setups, regulatory responsibility sits with the license holder, not the brand partner. This is a useful global principle to follow in LATAM as well—choose partners that demonstrate robust third-party oversight.
Ideal Use Cases: When White Label Fits
A white-label route makes sense when you need a fast, compliant launch under a provider’s license and want to validate demand or a new GEO before committing to a full license or custom build. It lets you go live quickly while you test the market and gather real data.
It also fits brand-first teams whose strengths are marketing, acquisition, and retention—not platform engineering. The provider manages the stack (hosting, updates, integrations) and includes bundled compliance, KYC/AML, and audit support for complex regimes (e.g., Brazil/SPA). And if your long-term plan is your own license or a turnkey setup, white label can be a practical bridge with a clear path to upgrade.

Conclusion
White label is one of the fastest and easiest ways to launch an online casino or sportsbook under an existing license and infrastructure. You keep the brand, marketing, and customer relationship; the provider runs the tech stack, compliance, and day-to-day operations behind the scenes. Done well, it lowers time-to-market and operational risk while you test new geos or build an audience.
Success comes down to fit and diligence: verify license coverage in each target market (e.g., SPA requirements in Brazil), confirm local payments and KYC flows, clarify data ownership and export rights, and lock in SLAs, reporting, and an upgrade path to turnkey or your own license. With those pieces in place, white label can be a practical on-ramp to scale.
